partnership between Cyberspatial, Wallaroo.ai, and Equitus.us

USSF :PILOT PROPOSAL

A partnership between Cyberspatial, Wallaroo.ai, and Equitus.us could create a powerful, end-to-end solution for the U.S. Space Force by integrating their respective expertise in network security, AI/ML operationalization, and data unification. This synergy would address key challenges in space domain awareness and autonomous operations.

Cyberspatial's Role: Network Security and Visualization

Cyberspatial specializes in network security and data visualization. Its "Teleseer" platform helps security teams see, understand, and defend their networks by analyzing network traffic (PCAP) and transforming technical data into visual intelligence. This capability is critical for:

  • Network Mapping and Threat Detection: In a space-based network, Cyberspatial could passively discover and map all connected assets—satellites, ground stations, and communication links—without agents or scanning. It can then visualize network traffic to identify anomalies and threats, such as unauthorized data access or attempts to jam signals.

  • Faster Incident Response: By providing a clear, visual representation of network activity, Cyberspatial's platform would enable Guardians to quickly pinpoint the source of a cyber-attack or anomaly, accelerating the response time in a contested space environment.

  • Operational Security: It would ensure the integrity of data flowing between space assets and ground systems, which is paramount for mission success.

Wallaroo.ai's Role: AI at the Edge

Wallaroo.ai is an MLOps platform that focuses on deploying, managing, and observing AI models at scale, particularly in low-resource, "edge" environments. Wallaroo.ai is already an awardee of the U.S. Space Force's SpaceWERX program. Its unique value lies in:

  • On-Orbit AI Inferencing: Space is the ultimate "edge" environment, with limited compute, power, and bandwidth. Wallaroo.ai's platform can run AI models directly on satellites, enabling real-time decision-making without a constant connection to a ground station. This is crucial for applications like autonomous navigation, debris avoidance, and real-time threat detection.

  • Model Management and Optimization: The platform can efficiently manage a fleet of AI models in space, ensuring they are performing optimally and are not experiencing data or model drift. It can also handle the complex logistics of updating and deploying new models to satellites.

  • Reduced Data Transmission: By processing data on-board, Wallaroo.ai minimizes the amount of raw data that needs to be transmitted back to Earth, saving critical bandwidth and power.

Equitus.us's Role: Data Unification and Contextualization

Equitus.us provides an AI-driven "Knowledge Graph Neural Network" (KGNN) platform that unifies disparate data sources and creates a cohesive, AI-ready knowledge graph. This is a foundational layer for any large-scale, data-intensive operation. For the Space Force, Equitus.us would:

  • Unify Disparate Data Sets: The Space Force generates and consumes vast amounts of data from various sources—satellite telemetry, sensor data, intelligence reports, and network logs from Cyberspatial. Equitus.us would ingest this fragmented information and automatically connect, correlate, and contextualize it into a single, unified knowledge graph.

  • Enable Intelligent Decision-Making: By creating this "single pane of glass," Equitus.us would allow human operators and AI models to query and analyze all relevant information in real-time. For example, it could correlate a network anomaly detected by Cyberspatial with a specific orbital event captured by a satellite, providing a holistic view of the situation.

  • Provide a Foundational Layer for AI: The clean, unified, and contextualized data produced by Equitus.us's KGNN is the ideal input for the AI models managed by Wallaroo.ai. It eliminates the data preprocessing bottlenecks that often plague complex AI projects.

The Synergistic Partnership: The “Space Domain Awareness” Stack

Together, these three companies create a powerful "Space Domain Awareness" (SDA) stack:

  1. Equitus.us ingests and unifies all data sources, creating a real-time, comprehensive knowledge graph of the space and cyber environment.

  2. Cyberspatial leverages this data to provide a visual, intuitive interface for network security and monitoring, identifying threats and vulnerabilities in communication links.

  3. Wallaroo.ai operationalizes AI models that use the unified data from Equitus.us to perform tasks like autonomous threat detection, collision avoidance, and predictive maintenance directly on satellites and other edge devices.

This partnership would enable the U.S. Space Force to move from reactive defense to proactive, AI-driven deterrence. It combines data intelligence, network security, and AI operationalization into a single, cohesive, and powerful capability.

Partnership's capability stack could be based on IBM Power11 processors. IBM's Power11 is specifically designed for the type of high-performance computing, AI, and security-focused workloads that this partnership would require for the U.S. Space Force.

How IBM Power11 Enables This Partnership

  • AI Acceleration and Efficiency: The IBM Power11 processor has built-in, on-chip acceleration for AI inference workloads. This is crucial for Wallaroo.ai's mission to operationalize AI at the edge, particularly on-orbit. The ability to perform real-time analytics and decision-making on the satellite itself, without transmitting massive amounts of data back to Earth, is a significant advantage. This also addresses the power and bandwidth constraints of a space environment.

  • Data Intelligence and Security: The Power11 is engineered for data-intensive workloads and includes advanced security features that are vital for national security applications. It offers quantum-safe cryptography and the IBM Power Cyber Vault, which provides rapid ransomware detection in under a minute. These features directly support both Equitus.us's data unification and Cyberspatial's network security functions, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of mission-critical data.

  • Resilience and Reliability: The IBM Power platform is renowned for its reliability, and Power11 continues this tradition with an astonishing 99.9999% uptime target. For a critical mission like space domain awareness, where a moment of downtime could have severe consequences, this level of resilience is non-negotiable. The platform also offers zero planned downtime for maintenance and autonomous patching, which is essential for systems that cannot be easily physically accessed or rebooted.

  • Hybrid Cloud and Edge Integration: The Power11's design supports a seamless hybrid cloud environment, allowing workloads to be run on-premises, at the edge (on-orbit), or in the cloud (such as IBM Power Virtual Server). This flexibility is perfect for a U.S. Space Force partnership that needs to handle both cloud-based data analytics (Equitus.us) and on-orbit AI operations (Wallaroo.ai), while ensuring secure communication between all points (Cyberspatial).

Cyberspatial's Role: The Foundation of Network Intelligence

Cyberspatial specializes in network analysis and cybersecurity. Its core product, Teleseer, is designed to provide "next-gen network analytic suite" that maps, discovers, and visualizes network activity without needing agents or scanning. Key capabilities include:

Wallaroo.ai's Role: The AI Operations & Optimization Engine

Wallaroo.ai is a platform for deploying, managing, and optimizing AI/ML models in production. It is focused on solving the "last mile" problem of MLOps—taking a trained model and putting it into a real-world application with speed and efficiency. Its key strengths are:

  • High-Performance AI Inference: Wallaroo.ai's platform is optimized for fast, efficient AI inference, running models on a variety of hardware (CPUs, GPUs, and even ARM-based architectures) with minimal infrastructure and cost. It can be used in both cloud and "edge" environments.

  • Automated MLOps: It automates the complex process of packaging, deploying, and managing AI models. This includes features like "zero downtime" model updates, A/B testing, and continuous monitoring for model drift.

  • Agentic AI and RAG: Wallaroo.ai has capabilities for managing and scaling agentic AI applications and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, which are essential for making large language models (LLMs) and other AI agents more effective and grounded in specific data.

How They Could Work Together for Space Force and Beyond

The U.S. Space Force has a strong focus on becoming a "data-driven and AI-enabled force." This means they need to apply AI to solve critical challenges in space superiority, and this is where the combined capabilities of Cyberspatial and Wallaroo.ai become incredibly valuable.

1. AI-Powered Space Domain Awareness (SDA):

  • The Problem: The Space Force needs to track thousands of objects in orbit—satellites, debris, and potential adversary spacecraft. This is a massive, real-time data problem.

  • The Partnership Solution:

    • Cyberspatial's contribution: Could be adapted to a "cyberspatial" domain. It would ingest network data from satellite communications, ground station networks, and other space-related C5I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence) systems. It would provide the foundational layer of data to discover and map the entire network of space-based assets and their ground support.

    • Wallaroo.ai's contribution: Would take AI models (trained to detect and classify objects from sensor data, identify anomalous behavior, or predict orbital trajectories) and deploy them on the Cyberspatial-managed network. Wallaroo.ai's ability to run models on edge devices (like ground station computers or even on-board satellites with capable processors) would be critical for real-time analysis, reducing the need to send massive amounts of raw data back to Earth.

2. Cybersecurity for Satellite Networks:

  • The Problem: Satellite networks are a prime target for cyberattacks, which could disrupt military and commercial operations.

  • The Partnership Solution:

    • Cyberspatial's contribution: Would use its passive discovery and network visualization to monitor the network traffic between ground stations and satellites. It could identify unauthorized devices, unmanaged systems, or unusual communication patterns that might indicate a breach or an adversary's presence.

    • Wallaroo.ai's contribution: Would deploy machine learning models trained to detect cyber threats (e.g., denial-of-service attacks, command injection attempts, or data exfiltration) in real-time. Wallaroo.ai's platform would ensure these models are always up-to-date and performing optimally, with the ability to "hot-swap" models to adapt to new threats without disrupting the network.

3. Autonomous Satellite Operations:

  • The Problem: As the number of satellites grows, it becomes impossible for human operators to manage them all. There is a strong need for more autonomous spacecraft.

  • The Partnership Solution:

    • Cyberspatial's contribution: Could provide the network-level "nervous system" for a constellation of satellites. It would ensure the communication links are secure and that the data flow is visible and auditable.

    • Wallaroo.ai's contribution: Would deploy the on-board AI agents that make the satellites autonomous. These could be models for autonomous navigation, collision avoidance, or intelligent resource management. Wallaroo.ai would manage the entire lifecycle of these models, from deployment to ongoing monitoring and updates, all while ensuring they run efficiently on the spacecraft's limited computing resources.

4. The "Beyond" - A Holistic AI-Driven Defensive Ecosystem:

  • The partnership's true value lies in creating a unified system. Cyberspatial provides the eyes and ears—the "ground truth" of the network domain. Wallaroo.ai provides the brain and the muscle—the ability to deploy and run intelligent models that act on that information.

  • This collaboration would result in a seamless, automated loop: sense (Cyberspatial's network discovery), understand (AI-powered threat analysis via Wallaroo.ai's models), and act (automated responses or real-time alerts generated by the system). This is precisely the kind of capability required for modern, large-scale, and contested domains like space.
